On Friday, April 24, Himeji International School held a special event titled “Poland Day.”
This event was held to commemorate the visit of Ms. Barbara Nowacka, Minister of National Education of Poland, to our school on April 24, 2025. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on the special relationship that has developed between Poland and our school through various international exchange activities, including mutual training programs with our sister school.
During lunchtime, with the support of the Broadcasting Club, Polish music was introduced through the school’s public announcement system. Students enjoyed a wide range of music, from traditional Polish music and pieces by Chopin to contemporary songs popular among young people today.
After school, a Poland-themed cultural event was held in the reading room by our Polish teachers, Ms. Ola, Ms. Dorota, and Ms. Natalia. The venue featured several mini-workshops and hands-on activity corners, allowing students and teachers to freely participate and enjoy learning about Polish culture in a fun and engaging way.

Activities included a mini Polish language lesson, a memory card game based on pierogi, one of Poland’s most well-known traditional dishes, and an activity exploring words that sound similar in Japanese and Polish.

As part of our ongoing exchange with our Polish sister school, Nazareth School, students and teachers from Nazareth School are scheduled to visit our school in November.
Himeji International School will continue to value its special connection with Poland and further deepen its international exchange activities in the years ahead.
