Himeji Jogakuin Welcomes Four New International Students from Indonesia

16 May 2026

This month, Himeji Jogakuin welcomed four new international students from Indonesia, adding even more diversity to our increasingly international school community.

As students with a wide range of backgrounds learn together, opportunities for cross-cultural exchange continue to grow throughout the school.

At the welcome ceremony, each of the four students introduced themselves in Japanese and shared their hopes for their school life in Japan. They spoke about wanting to study Japanese more and make many new friends. Although they seemed a little nervous, the venue was filled with warm applause from the students and teachers.

The new students are currently studying Japanese while also taking part in other subjects. They are gradually building relationships with Japanese students, and we have already seen many natural moments of connection, such as students helping one another during lessons and enjoying conversations during breaks.

The students also shared their impressions of Japanese school life, saying things such as, “I was surprised that everyone cleans the school together,” and “The students are very kind.”

We hope that the four new students will enjoy their school life at Himeji Jogakuin and that their presence will help further enrich the international atmosphere of our school.
